The empire has already fallen. There is no empire actually. Its just cyridel. The empire fell so far down especially after the great war. You say they are so strong?? Yet they wont even send real soldiers to skyrim because they are 'too busy' at the border?? The thalmor took that border and your capital and fucked your wives and children for the past 25 years. There is no empire, theres cyridel. Nords were the backbone of the empire and with 50% of nords rebelling, means the empire is on its knees. Nords have always been the main military of the empire because they are born fighters, just because some nords do some farmer dont mean they aint still warriors. When the North wants to leave they leave. The answer is in history and fictional texts elder scrolls is based on. Irl, the american revolution, 13 colonies vs an entire empire. Irl roman empire vs Barbarian germanic tribes. Irl Mongolians vs Chinese empire.. elder scrolls is based on the Game of Thrones books... In those books in the end the North won, and took over the Lannister empire. You cant tell me the Stormcloaks are just a small rebellion. The stormcloaks have much more than the empire they are a force to be recconed with. People always underestimate the North, and the North always prevails.

Oh, people in Tamriel would definitely care about inter-race relationships. You only listed generally political reasons why people might object, but there would most certainly be racial prejudices as well. This is medieval fantasy we're talking here. People aren't usually nice about that kind of thing. The thing is though, The Elder Scrolls series is a LOT more mainstream nowadays, and if Bethesda realistically depicted people's reactions to inter-race relationships on a wider scale than one or two prejudiced individuals then the studio would be deluged with accusations of promoting racist ideology even though that is would realistically happen. Those various different races across Tamriel have been kicking the shit out of each other at various different points throughout history. Just as people in Skyrim are openly prejudiced against the Khajit, people in Windhelm openly hate dark elves, and the high elves hate basically everybody who isn't a high elf themselves, there would be many, *many* widespread racial prejudices all over without any form of media control to enforce a consensus ideology on the masses like we have today. That's the thing with different cultures and civilisations - at some point, everybody has fought everybody else, a lot of blood has been spilled, territory has been stolen, and people tend to remember all that. So no, the recent games don't depict people's reactions to inter-race relations all that realistically, given that the setting is medieval fantasy and there HAVE been numerous bloody wars between the various races, but seeing as how mainstream the series has become these days, it's probably understandable why they'd prefer to sweep that kind of thing under the rug and pretend it doesn't exist. It totally WOULD exist, but people would complain if they showed it.

The lore around the Aldmeri Dominion and low fertility was kind of changed with Skyrim, their troops are seen marching up and down Skyrim and took over Tamriel. Not what you would see from a low birthrate culture, and this is factoring a post great war world that saw many on all sides dead.

in ESO there is a female khajiit who is in love with a dunmer woman in coldhabour. and she leaves dead rats at her doorstep in the mornings trying to win her over. the Dunmer was weirded out at 1st and thought the khajjiti hated her, but when she realise she was being courted she warmed up to her seeing her like a big fluffy kitten.
